The paper “Climate and International Strategy: New Paths for Brazil” draws on consultations with over 70 actors from different sectors and proposes a strategy that intertwines climate action with inclusive and sustainable development, as well as the defense of multilateralism and a fair and effective global governance. Bilateral consultations were held with decision-makers and other actors from all sectors — government agencies, civil society and social movements, the private sector, finance, and international organizations — across different regions of Brazil.
The paper is authored by Adriana Abdenur, Izabella Teixeira, Jaques Wagner and Pedro Abramovay. The preface is signed by former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim.
The text was launched during the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
